Smart switch loads, minimum power and dimming

QIANXING smart touch switches do not support dimming. Per circuit, rated load must not exceed 800W and LED load must not exceed 150W. Minimum loads are 3W for energy-saving lamps, 5W for LEDs or 16W for fluorescent lamps.

Identify the lamp type first

800W is the maximum rated load per circuit, not the LED limit. LED loads must be no more than 150W and at least 5W per circuit.

Also check lamp drivers, wiring and combinations against site conditions and equipment documents. A total wattage below one limit is not a complete compatibility check.

Calculate each circuit separately

Requirements apply per circuit for both models. For a dual-circuit switch, list the lamp type and power on each circuit separately; the two allowances cannot be combined on one circuit.

For example, if both circuits power LEDs, check that each is no more than 150W. Do not treat them as one 300W circuit. This example illustrates calculation per circuit.

Check the minimum load too

There are minimums as well as maximums: 3W for energy-saving lamps, 5W for LEDs and 16W for fluorescent lamps per circuit. When selecting low-power lamps, check the requirement for the specific type.

Provide model numbers and specifications to confirm a particular lamp combination. This page offers no workaround using rewiring or extra components to bypass the requirements.

Specify on/off control and dimming separately

Neither QIANXING single- nor dual-circuit smart touch switches support dimming. Connecting to Mi Home does not change this capability.

If brightness or colour-temperature adjustment is needed, define the lamps and control approach first, then confirm a suitable configuration with QIANXING. Do not use the touch switch as a dimmer.

Frequently asked questions

Can I connect 800W of LED lighting?

No. The LED limit is 150W per circuit, not 800W.

Can the two circuits be added together to meet the minimum load?

Check lamp type and minimum load for each circuit. Do not add both circuits’ power to meet a single circuit’s requirement.
