GUIDE / 01
How do I choose flush switches and sockets for my finish?
Choose the finish first, then the functions. QIANXING second-generation Star Ring A is for painted and decorative-painted walls; Star Ring B is for wood and stone.
Choose Star Ring A for painted walls
Star Ring A uses a white concealed mounting plate, with the faceplate painted alongside the wall. A standard 86-type back box is not included and must be sourced separately.
Choose Star Ring B for wood and stone
Star Ring B suits panels 8–38mm thick and uses a matching housing, with no standard 86-type back box required. Surface thickness plus clearance must exceed 40mm.
Confirm the system and functions separately
After choosing the installation system, select power sockets, USB, Ethernet or smart touch switches. Check the finish, available installation space and function list before ordering.

What should I prepare for installation in a painted wall?
Star Ring A requires a separately sourced standard 86-type back box at least 48mm deep, recessed 10mm below the final finished surface.
Use the final finished surface as the reference
Set the recess position with the final finish thickness in mind, rather than using the unfinished wall alone as the reference. Follow the July 2026 painted-wall installation manual for openings, fixing and surface preparation.
Check wiring and functions first
Smart touch switches require live and neutral wires, including when used as conventional switches.
Installation documents
For Star Ring A wiring, also refer to page 8 of the panel installation manual. Both published manuals can be downloaded below.

What is required for installation in wood and stone?
Star Ring B is for wood and stone panels 8–38mm thick. Surface thickness plus clearance must exceed 40mm.
Check the available space
Star Ring B uses a matching housing without a standard 86-type back box. A suitable finish thickness does not by itself establish enough installation space; check both requirements.
Check drawings before fabrication
Give the actual panel thickness, rear clearance and chosen functions to the design and installation teams. Check the installation documents for the currently sold structure before fabrication. Follow the July 2026 panel installation manual for cutting and assembly.
Faceplates and finishes
The faceplate should relate to the material and texture of its surrounding surface. System illustrations and real spaces can inform your selection, but illustrations cannot replace installation dimensions.

How do QIANXING smart switches connect to Mi Home?
QIANXING smart touch switches support Mi Home and require live and neutral wiring in advance. A Mi Home central hub must be purchased separately for smart integration.
Conventional use
Touch the faceplate to use it as a conventional switch. Live and neutral wiring is still required.
Smart connection
The Mi Home central hub is sold separately. Confirm compatibility with your devices before purchase, and follow the current manual for wiring.
Other smart systems
For other smart systems, consider a Home Assistant box and individually confirm compatibility between the devices, required integrations and target system. This is not a promise of compatibility with every system.

Do the smart switches support dimming, and how should I choose loads?
QIANXING smart touch switches do not support dimming. Rated load must not exceed 800W per circuit; LED load must not exceed 150W per circuit.
Minimum load
Minimum loads per circuit are 3W for energy-saving lamps, 5W for LEDs and 16W for fluorescent lamps. Check the lamp type, then the load for each circuit.
Single and dual circuits
The single-circuit model is S-2023-O-TC-01; the dual-circuit model is S-2023-O-TC-02. These load requirements apply to each circuit.
Use the correct load limit
800W is not the LED load limit. Projects requiring dimming must select a separate dimming solution suited to their requirements.

How do I choose power, USB and Ethernet sockets?
QIANXING’s second generation offers five-pin, UK and universal sockets, USB-A + USB-C, Cat 6 Ethernet, and single- and dual-circuit smart touch switches.
Power sockets
Five-pin socket P-2023-O-PW-01: 10A 250V~; UK socket P-2024-O-PWE-01: 13A 250V; universal socket P-2024-O-PWW-01: 13A 250V. Select according to the appliance plug and electrical ratings.
USB ports
P-2023-O-UB-01 provides USB-A and USB-C at 5V 2A, sharing 10W total output. Each port does not have a separate 10W allowance.
Ethernet port
P-2023-O-CB-01 is a Cat 6 Ethernet socket. Actual network performance also depends on wiring and connected equipment; the port category alone does not guarantee speed.
