SELECTION NOTES / 07

Choosing power, USB and Ethernet modules

Choose functions for the actual equipment: power sockets for the corresponding plugs; USB-A and USB-C at 5V 2A with 10W shared output; or a Cat 6 Ethernet module. Each module also needs an installation system suited to the finish.

QIANXING · Second-generation product selection Updated

Select power sockets by plug and electrical rating

The five-pin socket is rated 10A 250V~; UK and universal sockets are rated 13A 250V. Confirm appliance plugs, electrical ratings and operating conditions together.

‘Universal socket’ is a product name, not a guarantee of compatibility with every country, plug or appliance. Provide actual equipment details when selecting, rather than relying on the name alone.

USB’s 10W is shared total output

USB-A and USB-C share 5V 2A and 10W total output; each port does not provide a separate 10W. Actual output with a device depends on the relevant conditions.

Available documents do not confirm PD or other fast-charging protocols. A USB-C connector does not by itself establish fast-charging capability. Check device requirements before planning power for computers or high-power equipment.

Cat 6 Ethernet works within the whole network

The Ethernet module is Cat 6. Actual performance also depends on cables, terminations, switching equipment and network service. The port category alone cannot guarantee speed.

Record data points, cable routes and power needs separately when planning positions. Where both power and data are needed, combine modules to suit the actual requirements.

Create one function schedule

List equipment, connection types, quantities and usual plug directions by room. After confirming functions, choose the corresponding Star Ring A or B installation configuration.

Do not infer undisclosed models, power ratings or protocols from setting photographs. Use the product pages and confirmed schedule for specific functions.

Frequently asked questions

When used together, do USB-A and USB-C each have 10W?

No. Both ports share 10W total output.

Does a Cat 6 port guarantee actual network speed?

Not by itself. Actual performance depends on wiring, network equipment and service.
